This is going to be a short entry since I had some internet issues.

Remember the rain that was forecasted for today? We woke this morning to a different forecast. No Rain! It turns out the forecast was more accurate yesterday.

I always text Claudia when we stop for a break so that she knows not to worry if see's us stopped when she is tracking us. Today when I texted her when we stopped to decide what to do because of the rain we saw in the distance. She texted "I'll only pick you up this side of the state line! (meaning Missouri)!" She was kidding but that was how we all felt.

Well we did make it. Here are some pictures along the way. We were pretty wet when Claudia picked us up in Harrisonville.

The lowlight of the day was when we stopped in Louisburg, KS at a MacDonald's to get out of the mist, use the facilities and get something to eat. After we ordered when we sat down, we were told we weren't allowed to eat inside. Thom and I had a lovely picnic on the rocks out front in the mist. They did let us use the facilities.

PROGRESS

We finally made it into our seventh state. Here is the super dandy table.

TOMORROW

Again we will be dependent on the rain. We hope to make it to Windsor, Sedalia or Booneville.

  1. You all are awesome! Perhaps MO is nothing like Oz, but at least you’re not in Kansas any longer! Hoping the weather improves so you can log a few more “century” days! Keep on peddling, and stay safe!
