Life's Too Short

To ride on a bike path that isn't paved.

To ride through a road under construction.

To try and make a left turn off of Elmwood Avenue.

To get upset at a driver from Florida who decided to honk his horn nice and loud to let us know he was behind us.

Life's Too Short is a song by our host for these three days and the host of Open Tunings. One of the lines in the song is "Life's Too Short to Compromise." I'm feeling pretty good about the fact that we have done the trip on our terms.

That's my profound thought for the day.

Today's ride was a short one from where we ended yesterday to Rochester, It was supposed to be 49 miles but with our detours we stretched it to 50 miles.

Here it is on Strava:

PROGRESS

We are just a hair short of 3,000 miles. We have a little more than 400 miles left. We are getting pretty excited.

Here is the bottom of the table:

TOMORROW

Tomorrow is going to be a short day. It will also be our first media event. The Tour de Cure people in Rochester have set it up. Will see if anyone really cares about two seventy year old guys riding cross country. Some of my riding friends from Rochester will be meeting us tomorrow. I look forward to that.

  1. Wow, only 400 miles left!!! What an awesome accomplishment.

Life’s too short to compromise - good words to the wise for us all. Enjoy your last few days on the road and maybe a victory lap around our little state a few times at the end 🥰.
